Maggie and I met officially at a pair of mutual friend's wedding. (She would tell you we had met before, but there was never an official introduction.) Maggie came up to me at the reception and asked if I knew where the bathroom was. I didn't know but I tried to guess, so I would have something to say. Later in the evening I introduced myself and found out that she already knew who I was because her roommate was in my Bible Study group. We spent some time talking later that evening at the reception. I was attracted to her and wanted to get to know her better.

We started hanging out with friends and chatting on GMail chat often (almost everyday). I was starting to really be interested and began working up the nerve to ask her out. However, before I could actually ask, Maggie caught on and let me know she just wanted to be friends. So we continued chatting on GMail and hanging out in groups with our friends.

After about 5 months of friendship, we spent a couple of weekends in a row hanging out with friends. I was starting to foster interest in another girl and would talk to Maggie about this girl. On one of these weekends that we spent together she started to look at me differently. I wrote it off because I didn't want to hurt our friendship and I thought she still wasn't interested. A few days later she told me that she liked me. We spent 5 hours that night talking about our relationship. I walked away from that conversation wanting to date her, but committed to praying about our relationship.

Two days later we were supposed to go see a movie with a group of friends, but our friends started canceling. I was certain at this point that I wanted to date Maggie and wanted to seize the opportunity. We were supposed to meet at the movie theater to see the movie, but I left early to swing by a store to pick up a dozen roses. I surprised her at her apartment and we went to see the movie together for our first date.
